About Predii
Predii is an automotive-specific AI company built on 13+ years of domain expertise and exposure to billions of real repair events, service records, and parts transactions. We build production-grade AI systems that help the automotive industry - from OEMs and shop software providers to aftermarket shops, distributors, and tire companies - move faster, make smarter decisions, and drive measurable margin impact. Unlike general-purpose AI, Predii speaks the language of the automotive industry: VINs, DTCs, labor op codes, repair orders, parts identification & ordering, pricing, and inventory workflows.
About this Role: Contract Consultant Business Analyst
Predii is seeking an experienced automotive aftermarket professional as a contract consultant/business analyst to serve as the key, potentially on-site presence for a customer engagement with a leading automotive aftermarket distributor - specifically in the tire distribution and/or warehouse distribution space. This is a requirements gathering and business analysis engagement designed to define the scope and specification for a custom AI solution that Predii will build and deploy. You will be the eyes, ears, and voice of the Predii team with the customer - translating business processes and operational realities into structured requirements that the Predii technical team can act on. This position will report to the overall Product Management lead.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth discovery interviews and working sessions with customer stakeholders across operations, inventory management, category management, pricing, and IT.
- Document current-state business processes - how decisions are made today, what data is used, where inefficiencies or manual processes exist, and where AI could drive the greatest impact.
- Identify and catalog the data assets available at the customer - sources, formats, ownership, quality, and accessibility - and translate these into a data inventory that supports AI model design.
- Translate business needs into structured, actionable requirements documentation that the Predii engineering and data science team can use as the foundation for solution design.
- Facilitate workshops and requirements review sessions with customer teams, ensuring alignment between business objectives and what is technically feasible.
- Maintain a running log of key decisions, open questions, assumptions, and risks throughout the engagement.
- Communicate progress, blockers, and findings to Predii's project leadership on a regular cadence - weekly at minimum.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a business analyst, requirements analyst, process consultant, or equivalent role - with a portfolio of documented requirements, process maps, or functional specifications.
- Strong customer-facing skills - comfortable building rapport, running structured interviews, facilitating group sessions, and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication - the ability to distill complex operational information into clear, concise documentation.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams - operations, IT, finance, and senior leadership - within a distribution or logistics-intensive business.
Additional Requirements
- Direct experience with tire distribution, parts warehousing, or wholesale automotive aftermarket operations - understanding of how product moves, how pricing works, and how inventory decisions are made in this environment.
- Thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. Able to pivot discovery approach as new information surfaces without losing structure or deliverable quality.
- Comfortable operating independently on-site, managing own schedule, and proactively escalating when blockers arise. Does not require daily supervision.
- Understands the language of the automotive aftermarket - inventory turns, SKU rationalization, margin matrices, fill rates, and distribution workflows.
- Exposure to AI, data analytics, or technology implementation projects - familiarity with what it means to define requirements for a data-driven or AI-powered solution.
- Prior consulting, contract, or project-based work experience - comfortable with ambiguity and self-directed delivery within a managed framework.
